The basin is well protected by jetties extending into the Chesapeake Bay. In the distance, the basin is rimmed by rolling hills with stately houses nestled in the terrain. MARINA APPROACH & DOCKING
Herrington Harbour South is located on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, about 18 miles south of Annapolis. From green can 81A, proceed NW. Find FL G 1 PA, then set a magnetic course of approximately 262 degrees magnetic and you should see QK FlG1, which marks the entrance by the jetties. Leave the green marker 1 to port and go between the jetties. Proceed into the channel and line up on the range markers. There is plenty of water in the channel approach and a reported seven feet of water in the channel and at the docks at mean low water. The well-kept docks are wooden structures with finger piers and tie-off pilings. Call on VHF channel 9 or 16 upon your approach. Proceed to the gas dock where you will be assigned a slip. The staff hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends.
