The following review was written by the editorial department of Chesapeake Bay Magazine.

The Drainman is a clever new product that harnesses the energy of wind and waves to remove water from your boat. The eco-friendly pump requires no battery power and installs in minutes. As the boat tugs on its mooring line, the transfer of energy compresses the in-line pump, which generates suction. The suction has sufficient force to draw water from deep sailboat bilges or long runs aft. The Drainman ($70) pumps up to 660 gallons of water per day, depending on wave action. Maximum suction height is 8.2 feet, while maximum suction length is 26 feet. It requires no wiring, is easily transferable and handy to carry and lock in place. The pump is self-priming.
